Playing Catch-up Again...

The end of the school year is super busy with activities like crazy. Add that to the rest of life's craziness, and I just about can't keep up. This is a quick documentation of some of the activities that have been keeping us busy over the past week or two.

Come visit my classroom night: We got to go to Grace's classroom and see all of the fun things that she had been working on over the past couple of months. Her writing skills have improved so much over the school year. She is super smart and was super excited to show us all of her accomplishments. One of the things she was most excited to show us was how she learned to do the monkey bars this year. Now to some this may not seem that exciting, but if you know how little upper-body strength Grace has, you would realize that this is a HUGE accomplishment.

Learning to Ride a 2-Wheeler: So Grace wanted desperately to learn how to ride her bike without training wheels, so Matt decided to teach her. It seemed like it would be easy enough, but after a few failed attempts, Grace decided she preferred to ride with training wheels. Who knew she'd give up so easily. Matt didn't argue or try to persuade her otherwise. So Grace is still riding with training wheels. Perhaps we'll attempt again in the near future.

Memorial Day Pool Party: Our friends Ben & Mandi invited us over for a Memorial Day pool party. It was lots of fun! Grace loved jumping off the diving board, and Claira was super cute in her little pigtails.

Fancy Bed: Grace came to me the other day and told me that she just didn't think her bedroom was fancy enough. I asked her what would help to make it fancier, and she decided that she needed a canopy. While it sounds like a great idea, most canopies are not Claira-proof (meaning Claira would rip anything out of the ceiling as soon as we hung it). So mommy came up with a fabulous idea. We stuck a fitted sheet over the top of the posts on Grace's bed. She loved it, and it was super easy!
